Who we are
This policy explains how freeroadmaps (“we”, “us”), available at freeroadmaps.com, handles information when you use the website and roadmap editor (the “Service”).
Information we don’t collect
The Service has no accounts and no database of user content. We do not ask for your name, email address or password to use it, and we do not receive the roadmaps you create.
Data stored on your device
The Service uses your browser’s local storage to keep things working between visits. This includes:
- The roadmaps you create or copy, and the list of your saved roadmaps.
- Your progress on a roadmap (topics marked Done, In Progress or Skipped).
- Your light or dark theme preference.
This data never leaves your device unless you choose to share or export it. You can delete a roadmap from the My Roadmaps page, or remove everything by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. Because we don’t hold a copy, we cannot recover roadmaps you delete or lose when clearing browser data — export a JSON backup if you need one.
Share links and embeds
When you create a share link, the roadmap is compressed and placed in the URL fragment (the part after the#). Browsers do not send the fragment to web servers, so the roadmap content is not transmitted to us when someone opens the link. Anyone who has the link, however, can read the roadmap — treat share links like the content they contain and only share them with people you trust.
If you embed a roadmap on another website, that website’s own privacy policy governs what it collects from its visitors.
Server logs and hosting
Like any website, the servers and content delivery network that deliver our pages may automatically record standard technical information, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. This is used only to operate, secure and troubleshoot the Service and is kept for a limited period by our hosting provider.
Cookies and tracking
We do not use advertising cookies or sell personal information. If we add privacy-friendly analytics in the future to understand overall usage, we will update this policy before doing so.
Third-party links
Roadmaps often link to articles, videos and courses on other websites. We don’t control those sites, and their own privacy policies apply once you leave the Service.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to improve the Service, and we don’t share it with third parties except where required by law.
Children’s privacy
The Service does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since no account or personal details are required, children can use the Service without providing any.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information about you. As your roadmaps are stored only on your device, you control them directly. For any request about information we may hold, such as an email you sent us, contact us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
